The Queer Section

Brooke and Megan decided they wanted to marry each other.

Not with a grand proposal. Not with a spectacle. Just a conversation. A shared yes.

Around that same time, the U.S. Supreme Court was weighing whether to review Obergefell -the case that protects marriage equality nationwide. For many engaged queer couples, the future felt uncertain.

Charlie’s Queer Books in Seattle responded with a series of pop up weddings - making space for the love to move forward, without delay. Brooke and Megan put their names in. They were chosen.

We filmed this interview at Charlie’s - in the same space that held their vows.

When community shows up for each other, love doesn’t wait.
